Week 162

After almost two weeks on the road and a quick party for a new 7yo, I feel like I am slowly getting all my wild ducks in a row. The row, however wobbly, is still very much a row! School has started off to a pretty good year, the boys seem happy and that's all I could ask for in the first week.

Henry's birthday is this week and he is obsessed with Greek mythology. While I would love to bake some incredible edible Parthenon cake, we decided to scale it back, and are doing an orange curd cake with whipped cream frosting. Sounds pretty dreamy. I will need it as my oldest is turning ten my brain is having a tough time accepting that. I may in fact be eating that cake in the bathroom while I am crying. I kid, I kid.

Menu:

Bread board dinner - salami, yummy cheese, good bread, and some fruit and veg

Henry's birthday dinner request: Chicken Enchiladas + Greek Salad (which he confirms is an odd combo), birthday cake - Lemon Cake, subbed with Orange Curd

Miso-Glazed Salmon with Coconut Milk Pilaf and Spinach

Burritos

Warm Sweet Potato Salad + Wild Rice

BLATs + Miso Lime Coleslaw (I think I am the only who likes this, but hey, that's the perk of being the chef!)
